Cradle of Future Champions

Founded in 2016 by IM Orce Danchevski, the “Kvalitet” festival is a beacon of Macedonian youth chess. With tournaments in the under-8, under-10 and under-20 categories, this festival not only unites the most talented young chess players from the country and beyond, but also creates an environment where values ​​such as sportsmanship, perseverance and intellectual development are nurtured.

Over the past nine years, “Kvalitet” has grown into a reputable international event, with over 200 children participating in the last edition in 2025. It is more than a tournament — it is a stage where future national team players are born, friendships are built and chess culture is celebrated.

Among the winners of “Quality” are names that today carry the Macedonian flag on the international stage:

And promising young talents like Dimkovski Stojancho and Leonid Petreski are already following in their footsteps, inspired by the atmosphere and challenges offered by the festival.

“Quality” is proof that when passion, vision and pedagogy come together, something lasting is created. This festival is part of the mission of the Danchevski Chess Academy — to integrate chess into the educational system and prepare the next generation for medals, but also for life.
